*Edit 7/1/06* I've been noticing that this particular piece is my most favorited (is that a word?) deviation out of all my submissions. So I thought I would update the image with the finished piece (no more floating dragon) in the original black and white, since that is what people seem to like best. There are poster prints (as well as cards, T-shirts and other goodies) available with this design on them at EMG (ellenmilliongraphics.com). Follow the linkie: [link] I also have my Basalt Dragon and The Garden Walk available for prints there. Check out my gallery!
Ok Here's the finished dragon! Although he's got Floating Elf Syndrome--no background or setting. I've started sketching in a rocklike thing for him to sit on, but I'm not sure how effective that is. But for now here's the dragon in all his graphite goodness!
Wow, this is an amazing work. I'm a huge fan of dragons so that's why I was immediately drawn to this picture. Your mastering the art of shading, great job.

What stunning detailing and anatomy! I love the pose, so relaxed yet powerful, the wings are really impressive. I love the perching pose, and how you were not afraid to use the darker tones in this. Nice work.
